Wild + Intimate Jackson Hole Destination Wedding: Lauren + Makysm

I met Lauren in a coffee shop nestled in Manhattan, after my talented friend and makeup artist Morgan referred me. After I photographed a wedding in Philadelphia, my husband and I took a train and met with her to talk about all the wedding details. Lauren is probably one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. You’d never know that she’s a classically trained violinist and was currently finishing up her last year of graduate school. (PhD, my friends!) Her husband-to-be was about to be a doctor, and they were counting down the days for a year later, when they’d finally tie the knot.

One of the ways that they really bonded throughout all the years they dated was going to incredible National Parks. Their favorite was Grand Teton National Park, and so when they started planning their wedding- there was no other place they wanted to get married than a stunning Jackson Hole Wedding.

Picture what a fun, crazy adventure that would be. Tie in some hand painted invitations, stunning Teton views, a gorgeous catholic ceremony, and a hundred of your best friends and family flying in to celebrate. Imagine renting out a bunch of cabins at your venue, wood stained and surrounded by rolling hills of green. Bring in the best catering, a live band playing during cocktail hour, and an open bar. Que your father’s barbershop quartet, serenading the two of you TWICE and singing to you for all to hear. Imagine a choreographed first dance, with you laughing and embracing each other throughout the night. Think midnight snacks and sweet kisses and blue bridesmaid dresses.

Now bring it to life. Because that’s what they did when they planned this wedding.

I had so much help capturing this day. I gave birth 5 days before this wedding, so I had a team of photographers and a videographer helping to make this day possible. I loved editing each image and video and being able to tell Lauren + Maks’ video as intimately as possible.
